Dr. Henry W. Indyk Scholarship
Established in 2006 by The Lawn Institute, the Dr. Henry W. Indyk Scholarship honors a founding father of Turfgrass Producers International while supporting the educational goals of TPI members and their families. Open to TPI Producer and Supplier members, their employees, and immediate family members, the scholarship provides up to $10,000 in financial aid for higher education, including technical, associate, bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral programs.
Bob Weerts Memorial Scholarship
Established in 2025 by members of TPI, the Bob Weerts Scholarship honors past-president Turfgrass Producers International, Bob Weerts, who was passionate about access to education, as well as supporting TPI members and their families. Open to TPI Producer and Supplier members, their employees, and immediate family members, the scholarship provides up to $5,000 in financial aid for higher education, including technical, associate, bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral programs.
How to Apply
To apply for a TPI scholarship, click the link below to fill out the TPI Scholarship Application form. This application is for both scholarships. Applicants will be reviewed, and the TPI Scholarship and Awards committee will decide which scholarship is awarded to which applicant. Scholarship applicants must be high school seniors or existing college students, and either an immediate family member of a TPI Producer/Supplier member or an immediate family member of a full-time employee of a TPI member company.
The Application Deadline is October 31st, 2026.

TPI Annual Awards
Distinguished Service Award, Innovator of the Year, Turfgrass Educator Award of Excellence, Honorary Member
There is an enormous amount of effort that goes in the development, education and promotion of the turfgrass industry. Every year at our annual International Education Conference and Field day we recognize those who have gone above and beyond in their time, energy and support. Below are the awards TPI has given to recognize those efforts. If you know someone who fits the description of one of those awards, please fill out our nomination form below.
Distinguished Service Award– This award recognizes outstanding devotion of time, talent, and energy to TPI, its programs, and its objectives for five or more years. Recipient receives complimentary membership for five years.
Innovator of the Year – This award reconizes unique and significant achievements that advance turfgrass sod production through research, engineering, training, marketing, and public relations, or environmental improvement.
Turfgrass Educator Award of Excellence – An educator member whose efforts represent personal commitment, dedication, and positive influence in helping educate consumers, turfgrass producers, and industry professionals throughout the world. These individuals have made themselves available to their community and to TPI to address turfgrass questions and concerns and get involved with programs that promote the benefits of turfgrass.
Honorary Member – This is a prestigious recognition awarded to individuals who have made exceptional contributions to the advancement of TPI or the natural turfgrass industry as a whole. Selected individuals are honored for their lasting impact, leadership, and dedication to the growth and betterment of the industry. Honorary Members receive complimentary registration to all TPI conferences and events.

Winners will be announced in December and will receive their awards at the 2026 International Education Conference and Field Day at Amelia Island.
