Nominations for TPI’s scholarships and awards are currently open for submission, offering recognition for achievement and support for academic growth in the study of natural grass.
If you know someone who deserves to be honored, please submit their name for consideration in our online form here. Choose the award you’d like to nominate someone for and share 300-500 words on why they deserve the award. Nominations for TPI’s annual awards close Oct. 31, and the winners will be announced in December. The awards themselves will be presented at the TPI 2027 International Education Conference & Field Day in Amelia Island, Florida, Feb. 14-19. They will also receive recognition in Turf News and the TPI Membership Directory.
TPI’s annual awards include:
Honorary Member – awarded to individuals who have made exceptional contributions to the advancement of TPI or the natural turfgrass industry as a whole.
Distinguished Service Award – recognizes outstanding devotion of time, talent and energy to TPI, its programs and its objectives for five or more years.
Turfgrass Industry Innovation Award – recognizes unique and significant achievements that advance turfgrass sod production through research, engineering, training, marketing and public relations.
Turfgrass Educator Award of Excellence – recognizes an educator member whose efforts represent personal commitment, dedication and positive influence in educating the public.
The Dr. Henry W. Indyk and Bob Weerts scholarships are also open for applications through our online form here. The deadline for both scholarships is Oct. 31. The Dr. Henry W. Indyk scholarship provides up to $10,000 in financial aid for higher education, while the Bob Weerts scholarship provides up to $5,000. Eligibility and application requirements are listed on the form itself.
