USDA Launches $2 Billion Program to Support Specialty Crop Producers

The USDA has announced the $2 billion Marketing Assistance for Specialty Crops (MASC) program to help specialty crop producers manage higher costs and expand market opportunities. This initiative aims to support growers of fruits, vegetables, herbs, and other specialty crops, addressing challenges like perishability, packaging, and transportation.

Applications are open from December 10, 2024, to January 8, 2025, for both established and new producers. Eligible producers can receive financial assistance based on their past or expected sales, with payments issued after the application window closes.
