Can any TPI members help with understanding why some dog breeds suffer terrible skin allergies to certain grasses?
I have a client with American bulldogs who live on steroids because of their allergic reaction to grass, a stressful situation for the dogs and the owners.
The vet who treats them has found as much info as she can, basically that there are many parts of the grass plant that cause the problem, pollen, hairs on the leaf etc. And that the allergy seems worse after mowing.
A vetnostics pathology report I have seen lists cynodons and paspalums high on the scale for causing allergies with dogs.
I would love to hear from any members who have first hand knowledge or experience that may help my client and hopefully educate us all,
Best regards
